Measurement of agents

Measurement of agents that are used or produced in workplaces is a legal obligation of every employer (CoLs 3850/2010, article 37). According to article 36 of Law 3850/2010, agent means any physical, chemical and biological agent present at work that is likely to be harmful to employee’s health, or dangerous in other aspects, regardless of its physical condition.

According to Law, the employer must monitor the concentration or intensity of any agents at the workplace, as well as the exposure of the employee to them.

Agent measurement in working environments must be reliable as it a factor which affects the implementation of corrective measures. Measurement results are documented in the Book of Agents.

Biosafety has calibrated equipment and follows certified standards and methods regarding agent measurement.
